Welcome to Fictionista Workshop’s Interview Series

“The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist’s credibility.” –Society of Professional Journalists ethical code

What is our objective?

A touchstone of Fictionista Workshop’s philosophy is accessibility—giving previously untapped resources to amateur writers, editors, and reviewers. For our interview series, we will focus on a vital resource: the knowledge of individuals with experience and success. How does an online reviewer find new material to critique? Where are the best places for an online writer to post their work? How does a published writer describe the publishing experience? What are publishing companies looking for in a manuscript? What common challenges do editors face and how do they overcome them? All of these questions and more can be answered by those who have been there.

Who will we be interviewing?

Every month our team of volunteers will find and speak in-depth with published authors, writers with online success, working editors, online reviewers, representatives of small publishing companies, and many more. These interviews will be transcribed and posted to this site. In the future, as we grow, we will also offer the interviews as podcasts.

How can you become involved?

We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our endeavors and grow as a community. If you are interested, submit an application. If there is someone in the writing community you think we should interview, send your recommendation to fictionistawksp@gmail.com.
