THE FLING

The sisters walk away from the food truck to find sitting room on a city park bench. After a few moments, they find a bench to sit and eat to have a private conversation.
“I don’t know what to do,” Katie says.
“Try to forget it,” Billie tells her.
“It’s too hard to forget, believe me.”
“You can if you want to.”
“I want to but I can’t.”
They take a moment to munch on their sandwich and take a sip from the soda cups, but it is a moment to think about the situation.
“Roy will find out and it will be all over between us,” Katie says.
“No it won’t,” Billie says.
“Yes it will.”
“It won’t. It was fling that happened. It was curiosity.”
“I shouldn’t have dated her.”
“You got drunk, probably tricked into it.”
“I wanted to do it,” Katie confesses.
“Do you want to do it anymore?” Billie asks.
“No I don’t but it’s Roy I hurt.”
“He will be hurt only if he knows.”
“She threatened to tell Roy.”
“Bitch,” is all Billie can say.
“I stuck her with a pen.”
Billie giggles. “You did what?”
“I stuck her with a pen.”
“A what”?
“I mean a penknife.”
“Oh okay,” Billie says.
“I told her if she told Roy, that I would find a bigger knife and do the same but harder,” Katie says.
“Where did you stick her?”
“In her stomach.”
“What did she do?”
“She walked away laughing.”
“I told her I want Roy not her.”
“Maybe she got the message.”
“Maybe she did.” END
