Fiction Friday: 08.06.10
Every Friday we ask our followers what they are reading, then we post the answers the following week with links to the work whether it is original fiction or fan fiction. If you didn’t have a chance to participate, please leave a comment below with what you are reading and if you are enjoying it so far.
On August 6, 2010 we tweeted: Raise your hand if you’ve read The Lovely Bones! #fictionfriday – Keep your hand in the air if you’ve also seen the movie.
#fictionfriday. Today’s #fictionfriday question is this: How did the movie, The Lovely Bones, compare to the book? Which did you prefer, and why?
Here were your responses:
@the_author_: @fictionistawksp *Hand in the air* I love that book -it makes me cry every time I read it. #fictionfriday
@the_author_: @fictionistawksp *Hand is still up* I wasn’t as fond of the movie as I am of the book, but I didn’t hate it by any stretch. #fictionfriday
@jenndema@: *Raises hand* RT @fictionistawksp: Raise your hand if you’ve read The Lovely Bones! #FictionFriday
@jenndema: *Lowers hand* RT @fictionistawksp: Keep your hand in the air if you’ve also seen the movie.

@hmonster04: @fictionistawksp read the book, saw the movie – hated the movie with a passion
@letmesign1901: @fictionistawksp the book was a difficult (emotionally) read, but great. The movie was cinematographically gorgeous, but even harder to take
@ciao_bella27: @fictionistawksp I read the book, but I knew it would be a difficult movie to watch, so I passed.
@ragsstone: @fictionistawksp *raises hand* I’ve read it, and I saw the movie, and I loved both
@wordninja_ali: @fictionistawksp The scene the movie cut was exactly what gave the book it’s “tone”, made it so eerie-good.
@un_autre_page: @fictionistawksp *raises hand* I read the book and loved it, but couldn’t find the desire to SEE a little girl getting hurt. ):
@arfalcon: @fictionistawksp I read TLB when it first came out. Amazing book, but no way could I see the movie. I had a RL friend who met a similar fate
@VivaViva9: @fictionistawksp The book was better, especially because it better explained what “the lovely bones” are. A touching concept.
